amda®. The advanced molar distalization appliance.

amda® offers a safe system for the distalization of upper molars. It forms a contemporary alternative to extractions for class II anomaly indications.  

amda® is a skeletal anchorage appliance that works in conjunction with components of the tomas® skeletal anchorage system. 

amda® can be used both for bilateral or unilateral distalization or the mesialization of upper molars and for the retraction of the upper anterior teeth. The appliance serves as a skeletally anchored transpalatal arch during the retention phase.  

The amda® system was invented by Prof. Dr. med. dent. Moschos A. Papadopoulos, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics at the School of Dentistry, Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. Dentaurum undertook the development of amda® in close cooperation with Dr Papadopoulos.  

The amda® system is suitable for these indications: 

• Distalization of molars 
• Mesialization of molars 
• Retraction of anterior teeth 
• Combined distalization and mesialization 
• Retention of molars 
  

Refined and simple 

The amda® system impresses with its refinement and simplicity. As with all Dentaurum products, great care has been taken in the design, use of materials and manufacturing to ensure the practitioner can achieve accurate and reliable results with relative ease. Furthermore, the appliance and individual components are designed to be more hygienic and comfortable for the patient.  

Concealed Spring 

At the core of the amda® appliance is a nickel-titanium spring fitted within the telescoping element. The concealed spring fitment makes the appliance more hygienic and comfortable than alternative devices. 

Easy pre-assembly, fitment and removal 

Parts can be pre-assembled before the fitting procedure, with minor individual adjustments performed in a few steps. This reduces procedure time and increases practice efficiency. Procedures for both fit and removal of the appliance are easy. 

Consistent results without requiring patient compliance 

As with the tomas® skeletal anchorage system, patient compliance is not required to achieve predictable results.
