ceraMotion® CADback redefines the art of ceramics for digital micro-layering

ceraMotion® CADback software

ceraMotion® CADback software is not just another conventional software for dental laboratories. It's a unique and innovative tool that fills a crucial gap in digital workflows by seamlessly integrating the advanced aesthetic skills of ceramists with digital workflows. Its advanced virtual cutback for micro-layering capabilities empowers dental labs to precisely control micro-layering within ceramic restorations.

Ceramists use ceraMotion® CADback Software to edit the design of individual frameworks for the micro-layering technique according to their exact wishes. CADback enables the creation of precise cutback areas before milling the framework out of zirconia blanks.

The focus of ceraMotion® CADback is user simplicity and control, combined with an intelligently designed and technically advanced focus on its core function: helping technicians precisely control the cutback before the ceramic layering technique is carried out to achieve the most natural aesthetics.

What is ceraMotion® CADback software?

Using ceraMotion® CADback

After the CAD technician has created the anatomical framework using their choice of CAD software, the ceramist can open the STL data in the ceraMotion® CADback. The software can also integrate a photo of the patient’s case. This photo data is automatically applied to the design data using colour mapping. The result is an impressive full 3D representation with photo-realistic tooth colouring.

The next stage creates the individual cutback areas to be reduced within the software. The cutback areas allow for precise control over four specific cutback zones: the Dentin, Incisal, Mamelon, and Translucency. Each of these areas can be presented with a different degree of reduction. Individual minimum wall thickness is specified to ensure the integrity of the restoration. The software reduces the restoration according to the ceramist’s specifications and the individual framework reduction.

The cutbacks are then clearly visible within the CADback software. This topographical 3D view of the crown surface layer provides the basis for targeted, precise and efficient micro layering.

Precise control with efficiency and simplicity

CeraMotion® CADback software is designed with the ceramist in mind. It gives the ceramist control at the ideal stage of the all-ceramics digital workflow, combining their expertise and artistry with an easy-to-use digital platform. Even those without digital experience can navigate and utilise its features effectively, making it a valuable addition to any dental lab's toolkit.

CeraMotion® CADback software is a game-changer for dental labs. It gives skilled ceramists greater control over design details. This compelling innovation supports the highest-quality ceramic restorations while enhancing dental labs' overall productivity and output.

CADback delivers a genuine advancement for labs, their dental practitioner customers, and patients.

Jeroen Klijnsma, Dentiq (Dental Services)

Jeroen Klijnsma owns Dentiq (Dental Services), a business that provides high-aesthetic dental laboratory work, digital design services, and training to dental laboratories and clinical teams.

“The strength of CADback is the control it puts into the hands of ceramists. It allows them to provide precise input to CAD designs that help them work more efficiently and achieve optimum aesthetic results".

“The aesthetic quality that can be attained today when using Dentaurum Zirconia with micro layering is very high. CADback creates an environment for the ceramist to create a more precise and customised design compared to the generic CAD design approach".

"It gives ceramists who were previously disconnected from the digital design stage access to design input. It allows them to control their use of the micro layering technique to most simply achieve the results they want".

Russell Waycott, Golden Seal Dental Lab

Golden Seal is a smaller-scale dental lab that prides itself on its high quality and customer experience standards.

“Today, we’re making greater use of technology, and increasingly AI, to improve the efficiency and quantity of our output without compromising quality”.

“We’ve found CADback to be a very useful addition to our workflow. It allows a ceramist to take the STL file generated by lab technicians and AI and add cutback designs for micro-layering. It’s an incredibly efficient workflow that puts the cutback in the ceramist's practised hands before milling and sintering. It’s more efficient, and they don’t have to be digitally savvy to use it.

“Combined with Dentaurum’s new ceraMotion® Z zirconia pucks, we’re producing crowns with astounding natural aesthetics.

“CADback has allowed us to make the most of today’s technology, materials, and techniques in a way that maximises quality, aesthetics, and efficiency. It helps our ceramists do what they do best, and our customers provide crowns of the very highest standard.

“The thinking behind CADback is something that we expect of Dentaurum. They help us work smarter and constantly produce the highest quality efficiently”.

Terry Whitty

Terry Whitty is the owner and founder of Fabdent, a full-service custom digital ready dental laboratory and supply company in Sydney.

“We’ve found ceraMotion® CADback to be an absolute joy to use. It’s become an essential ingredient within our digital ceramic restoration workflow’”.

“The magic of CADback is it puts the power of advanced digital micro layering in the hands of our most skilled ceramists. The best ceramists are highly skilled artisans who are often reluctant or genuinely struggle to take on digital practices. CADback is so easy to use, there are no barriers. It combines the best of their strengths with the best of digital efficiency.

“The defining attribute of ceraMotion® CADback is its simplicity. It focuses on just one thing, and it does that incredibly well with seamless ease of use.

“All up, CADback unlocks a digital workflow without compromise. We’re working smarter and faster while delivering the absolute pinnacle of natural aesthetics.

“Dentaurum understands labs like no other company in this industry. With CADback, they’ve nailed it again.”
